We are changing our name and here is why

We’ve changed our name, and here is why:
In the past year, our members have increasingly expressed that the name "REFORM" or "Women’s REFORM
CIC" does not adequately reflect our values or the work we do. Considering this feedback, we collaborated with
our members and board to create a new name and strapline that better represents who we are and what we
stand for.
Our Values
At Her Circle, we believe that change, growth, and freedom from oppression can be found through qualities of
the human spirit, such as:
Love, Compassion, Patience, Forgiveness, and Responsibility,
As an organisation, we treat our members, partners, and stakeholders according to the values we uphold, and
we ask for the same in return. While these qualities can never be fully mastered, daily practice can lead to a
greater sense of peace and happiness for ourselves and others.
Who we serve:
Over the past four years working in Newcastle, we’ve seen our amazing community of women grow! While we
started by helping those at imminent risk of child removal or recovering from it, we’ve expanded our support to
include women navigating complex motherhood. Mothers who face a variety of challenges that make their
journeys uniquely challenging.
Our clients are on healing journeys, which can include addressing issues like addiction, mental health struggles,
past child removal, interactions with the criminal justice system, poverty, and experiences of the care system in
their childhood.
These vulnerabilities put them all at risk of further traumatisation within a system prioritising assessment over
support. Our work interrupts that cycle by meeting women where they are, and delivering the support they
request.
Our Vision
For all mothers to thrive, free from oppression, misogyny, and trauma. For mothers to be able to access support
to recover from their challenges and live fulfilling lives.
Our Mission
To provide spaces for women to recover from trauma and, in doing so, reduce the number of children removed
from their care.
Our Purpose
We want to support women individually to thrive and avoid separation from their children due to unmet needs.
We want to support and challenge systems and services that work with women experiencing complex
motherhood to drive improvement in treatment and service outcomes for women.
