Her Circle is recruiting for HerAdvocate to join our team in Newcastle.
This is not a typical advocacy role. We are a women-led organisation supporting women experiencing complex motherhood, many living with the impacts of domestic abuse, trauma, poverty and safeguarding involvement.
Our advocates walk alongside women at some of the most critical points in their lives, offering informed, compassionate support grounded in lived experience and rights-based practice.
This is the first Advocate role within a new five-year advocacy programme, which will expand to include more in the months and years ahead. We are looking for someone with a strong background in statutory environments across the child protection continuum, who understands safeguarding processes and can work confidently within them.
We are looking for someone who is confident in constructively challenging systems and institutions where practice falls short, while maintaining professional relationships that keep women and children safe. You will need to combine professional knowledge with relational, trauma-informed practice and a deep belief in women’s dignity, safety and capacity for recovery.
